Drs. John and Karen Pelizzari have faithfully served in ministry for more than 30 years, teaching the Word of God and encouraging believers to grow in faith, unity, and victorious living through Christ.

Agape Christian Center Mission Statement

The mission of Agape Christian Center, its ministries, missions, outreaches, and representatives is to teach Christians worldwide to be filled with the knowledge of God’s will in all wisdom and spiritual understanding concerning the things of God for their lives, as written in Colossians 1:9.

We desire to help believers understand how to live a victorious life, discover who they are in Christ Jesus, and learn how to activate their covenant rights and privileges through the Word of God.

Our Beliefs

1. In the triune God: The Father, The Son, and The Holy Spirit.
2. Jesus Christ is the true God and true man.
3. The Old Testament and the New Testament are God’s divinely inspired Words.
4. All have sinned and come short of the glory of God and are in need of salvation.
5. It is the will of God that every believer be filled with the Holy Spirit.
6. Healing is provided in the redemptive work of Christ and is available to every believer.
7. The church consists of all those who have received Jesus Christ as their personal Savior.
8. There shall be a bodily resurrection of the Just and the Unjust.
9. In the personal, visible, imminent return of Jesus Christ.
10. In water baptism and observance of the Lord’s Supper.

Church History

Agape Christian Center was established on March 7, 1993. Today, we are grateful to be celebrating more than 33 years of ministry.

Our first church location was in a former laundromat that had been converted into a storage facility for Countryside Village, a trailer park near the Stillhouse Hollow Dam exit. The building was shared by several occupants. Half of the facility was used for storage, and an adjacent room was used as a workshop where birdhouses were built. It was not uncommon for a church service to be interrupted by the sound of sawing or hammering.

The church paid $75 per month in rent and remained at that location for approximately a year and a half.

Our second location was at 601 West First Street in Belton. The property consisted of two buildings located side by side. One building housed classrooms and a kitchen, while the other served as the sanctuary and church offices. The monthly rent was $300.

During the seven and a half years that Agape Christian Center occupied that location, the church experienced tremendous growth, along with many signs and wonders.

Our present location is at 321 North Penelope Street in Belton. Our first service in this facility was held on April 15, 2001, while a major construction project was still underway.

The acquisition of this property was truly a miracle. Despite great opposition, the church was able to purchase the property for $120,010. The three-story facility occupies approximately two-thirds of a city block.

As we continue to move forward, we remain thankful for all that God has done and expectant for all that is still ahead. The signs, wonders, and growth continue as Agape Christian Center fulfills the vision God has given this ministry.
